Before you start
Every product has one "Main product" tab, your own master data, and one tab per marketplace you list it on. That marketplace tab is the PIM tab, also called a product version. It holds that marketplace's copy of the product: its title, its description, its images and every attribute the marketplace asks for in the category you picked.
On a product's edit page they stand as tabs across the top: "Main product" first, then a tab per marketplace, then "Add new" at the end. A tab is named after your connection and the category, for example a connection called Kaufland and a category of headphones, and you can rename it while you create it.
Marketplaces ask for different things and you usually want different text per channel. A tab per marketplace lets you keep them apart while there is still one product underneath, so you never keep two catalogs.
What happens next
Three things have to be in place before a tab can be created.

Once the tab exists, its own fields decide the rest. Most fields hold either a value you type there, or a reference to a field on your main product, which it then follows. Where the marketplace gives a fixed list of values, you pick one from that list instead. Link Main Tab fields to your PIM tab is where you set that. FAQ
Can I import straight into a PIM tab?
No. You link the marketplace field to a field on the "Main product" tab and import into the main product, and the value flows through by itself. See Import into a PIM tab and use images per marketplace.
Why is a marketplace missing from the dialog?
Because you have no connection with it. The dialog shows one card per marketplace you connected, as a logo without your connection name, so two connections to the same marketplace show as one card. As long as you have not picked a marketplace, the "+" card at the end of the row takes you to the connection form and back.
What does deleting a tab remove?
Deleting a tab removes that marketplace version inside e-tailize. Your main product and other tabs are untouched.
