Before you start
As soon as you have products and marketplace connections, every marketplace icon on a product row carries a small coloured dot. The dot is that product's status on that marketplace, and the colour tells you what it still needs. One row therefore shows how far the same product is on each of your channels.
| Colour | Status | What it asks of you |
|---|---|---|
| red | "No PIM tab" | create the tab for this marketplace |
| orange | "Missing mandatory fields" | fill the required fields on the tab |
| yellow | "Pending validation" | validate the product |
| green | "Validated" | list the content and the offers |
Red is where every product starts: there is no tab for this marketplace yet. Creating one is the first step towards a listing, see Create or delete a PIM tab.
Orange means the tab exists but required fields are still empty. Fill them on the tab. Filling the optional fields as well gives the marketplace more to work with.
Yellow means the fields are there and validation is the only thing left. Validation checks your product data against what the marketplace asks for, before anything is sent.
Green means the product passed and is ready to be listed. Use "List content" for the product page and "List offers" for the price and stock, see Get a product live.
What happens next
The tab itself carries the same coloured dot in the tab bar: orange while required fields are still empty, yellow once they all have a value, and green once the tab is validated. Use it as a quick check while you are working through a tab.
To see all the products in one state, use the "Listing status" filter on your products page, which offers exactly these four. Per category and per marketplace, the Validation page counts them for you, see Read the Validation screen.
FAQ
Does green mean my product is on the marketplace?
No. Green means validated and ready to list. The product goes live after "List content" and "List offers", and the marketplace decides for itself what it accepts.
Why is one product red on one marketplace and green on another?
Because the status is per marketplace. Each marketplace has its own tab, its own required fields and its own validation, so a product can be finished on one channel while another one still waits for a tab.
My product is orange and I cannot find the empty field.
Open the marketplace tab: every required field that is still empty says "[field] is required." right under it, and the message clears when the field holds a value.
