Before you start
An import always lands on the "Main product" tab. You cannot import into a marketplace tab, and you do not need to: a field on a marketplace tab can hold a reference to one of your own fields, and then it follows whatever you import into the main product.
The chain icon next to a field is the switch between the two states. Its tooltip reads "Switch to reference field" while the field holds text you typed, and "Switch to value field" while it follows one of your fields. Link Main Tab fields to your PIM tab covers that screen field by field.
Steps
Open the product with "Edit" and click the marketplace tab, or "Add new" to create one first, see Create or delete a PIM tab.
Look at the chain icon next to the field you want to fill from your own data. Is it struck through, tooltip "Switch to reference field"? Then the field holds text you typed: click the icon to turn it into a reference picker. Is it green, tooltip "Switch to value field"? Then it is already a reference: leave the icon alone.
Pick your own field in the dropdown.
Save the tab with "Save & continue".
Run your import into the "Main product" tab as you always do, see Import products with a CSV file.
Open the marketplace tab again and check the field: it carries the value you imported.
Click "Upload images" on the marketplace tab when this marketplace should show other photos than your main product.
Set the main image on that tab with "Choose as main image".
Point the marketplace's image fields where you want them: at your own "PrimaryImage" or a numbered image field such as "Image2" for the set you already have, or leave them on the images you uploaded on the tab itself.
Open "Bulk edit" on the tab and use "Set reference field" to point the same field at the same source for every product in this category, see Bulk edit inside a PIM tab.
What happens next
A field that holds a reference keeps following your own data, so your next import updates every marketplace tab that points at it, on every marketplace. A field with a typed value and an image you uploaded on a tab stay exactly as they are until you change them there, which is what makes a marketplace specific title or image set possible.
Common problems
"The [field] field is empty. Please enter a value first in the main tab." The mapping is fine, but the field it points at is empty on the main product. Fill it in there, or click the chain icon and type the text into the marketplace tab instead.
"Your PIM Tab's Primary image is missing. Please upload it in the Main or PIM Tab." The field points at "PrimaryImage" and the product has no main image yet. Upload one on the "Main product" tab or on the marketplace tab, then pick the field again.
"Your PIM Tab's image field is empty. Please upload images in the Main or PIM Tab." The same for a numbered image field: the image with that number does not exist yet. Upload one more image, or point the field at a number you do have.
FAQ
Can I import straight into a PIM tab?
No. Link the marketplace field to a field on the "Main product" tab and import into the main product. The value flows through to every tab that references it.
Do images on a tab replace my product images?
No. Your main product keeps its own images. The tab decides what goes to that one marketplace, so you can send a different set per channel.
