Before you start

MediaMarkt and Saturn run one marketplace together, the marketplace of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, so one connection covers both and Saturn on its own is not a channel we connect. Two conditions are hard: your company is registered inside the European Union, and every product you offer carries an EAN. MediaMarkt decides who gets in, and that leans on your range, your sales and your customer scores.

MediaMarkt and Saturn runs on Mirakl, the software behind most retailer marketplaces we connect, so the wizard looks the same as for every other Mirakl marketplace. You need one API key from MediaMarkt and Saturn.

We connect MediaMarkt and Saturn for Germany, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Poland.

Steps

You apply before you connect: gather your company name, brand name, contact details, the marketplaces you sell on, your revenue there and your webshop URL, and send them to us through the chat in the app. Sell on MediaMarkt Germany: the application walks through it. Create the API key in your MediaMarkt back office once your seller account is live, and note the Store Id. Pick the country your seller account is for, a second country is a second connection.

  1. Open "Settings" in the left sidebar and click "Connections".

  2. Click "New connection", or open the marketplace wizard directly.

  3. Pick "Marketplace" in the chooser and click the MediaMarkt and Saturn logo under "Connect marketplace provider".

  4. Fill in "Connection name", your own reference for this connection.

  5. Paste the value into "API KEY". The field is masked, so you see dots instead of what you pasted.

  6. Pick the country you sell in under "Where do you offer your products?". The list holds "Austria", "Belgium (Dutch)", "Belgium (French)", "Germany", "Italy", "Poland", "Spain" and "The Netherlands".

  7. Fill in "Store Id".

  8. Click "Save".

  9. Click "Validation" in the left sidebar, pick the MediaMarkt and Saturn tile and click "Add missing PIM tabs" on every category you sell there.

  10. Fill the mandatory MediaMarkt and Saturn fields on those tabs and click "Validate products". Get a product live walks through that screen step by step.

  11. Click "Listing", pick the MediaMarkt and Saturn tile, select your validated products and click "List content". Click "List offers" once the content is through.

What happens next

MediaMarkt runs on Mirakl and checks your product data after it arrives. Your products appear on the platform only after an upload that came through without errors, and the verdict per product follows later. The legal product information stays yours as the seller, also for what you took over from a supplier.

The connection appears on the "API connections" page and as a card under "Existing connections" on the dashboard, and it starts feeding your dashboard, your orders and your stock. Orders from MediaMarkt and Saturn come in under "Fulfillment" and then "Orders", with the same "Open", "Processing" and "Closed" filters as your other channels.

Common problems

A refusal carries a code, for the energy label, images, language, the title, the EAN or age restrictions. Put only the model or product name in the title, MediaMarkt adds the brand, the product type and the colour itself. The image requirement differs per country, so read Content rules for MediaMarkt and Saturn for Germany and Content rules for MediaMarkt Netherlands and Belgium for the Netherlands and Belgium. A replacement image only counts under a new URL.
