Before you start

Douglas sells cosmetics and personal care, and it picks its sellers itself. You contact their purchasing or sales department and follow their terms and their procedure. Have your company details, your product information and your certifications ready, because their requirements on quality, certification and packaging decide the conversation.

Douglas runs on Mirakl, the software behind most retailer marketplaces we connect, so the wizard looks the same as for every other Mirakl marketplace. You need one API key from Douglas.

We connect Douglas for Austria, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland.

Steps

Create the API key in the Douglas seller back office once your account is live and copy it in full. Your store id sits in that same back office. A key from another Mirakl marketplace never works here.

  1. Open "Settings" in the left sidebar and click "Connections".

  2. Click "New connection", or open the marketplace wizard directly.

  3. Pick "Marketplace" in the chooser and click the Douglas logo under "Connect marketplace provider".

  4. Fill in "Connection name", your own reference for this connection.

  5. Paste the value into "API KEY". The field is masked, so you see dots instead of what you pasted.

  6. Pick the country you sell in under "Where do you offer your products?".

  7. Fill in "Store Id".

  8. Click "Save".

  9. Click "Validation" in the left sidebar, pick the Douglas tile and click "Add missing PIM tabs" on every category you sell there.

  10. Fill the mandatory Douglas fields on those tabs and click "Validate products". Get a product live walks through that screen step by step.

  11. Click "Listing", pick the Douglas tile, select your validated products and click "List content". Click "List offers" once the content is through.

What happens next

Content goes first and your offers follow, because your product has to sit in the Douglas catalogue before your offer can attach to it. The verdict per product comes back from Douglas in the "Listing" screen.

The connection appears on the "API connections" page and as a card under "Existing connections" on the dashboard, and it starts feeding your dashboard, your orders and your stock. Orders from Douglas come in under "Fulfillment" and then "Orders", with the same "Open", "Processing" and "Closed" filters as your other channels.

Common problems

A key copied halfway, or one created again in the back office afterwards, saves fine and then moves nothing: create a fresh key and save the connection again. A product whose EAN fails the check is refused on its own while the rest go through, and it stays in progress until you correct that EAN and list again.
