Content rules for INNO

The INNO rules your product data has to meet: the name, both languages, sizes, images and the price format.

Before you start

INNO is a Belgian department store and its marketplace runs on Mirakl. The rules below are what INNO requires of your product data.

Two things decide most of it. Your product data is mandatory in Dutch and in French, both languages on the same product. And the exact list of mandatory attributes per category lives in your own INNO seller back office, so check it there before you treat a field as optional.

What happens next

INNO runs a mandatory field check on the data it receives. A product that misses a mandatory field fails that check and is not visible to the customer in the shop.

Common problems

The name repeats the brand, or is cut off

The name may not contain the brand name. INNO already prints the brand above the name, so a brand in both places shows up twice.

Build the name as marketing name, then category, then attribute, and add the article number for watches. The marketing name itself is optional. One example from INNO: "Avra" plus "Sneakers laag" plus "khaki".

Keep the name within 56 characters including spaces, and aim for 28. A longer name is cut off at character 28 and the rest stays invisible, on the listing page for example. The name is mandatory in Dutch and in French.

The description is thin, or exists in one language only

The long description is mandatory in Dutch and in French, at most 5000 characters including spaces. Keep it unique so it does not duplicate your own website, and leave out advertising for other products and links to other sources.

For bullet points, put <br/> at the start or the end of every new line.

The short description gives the key features as one continuous text, at most 112 characters. INNO calls it mandatory in Dutch and in French, even though it is listed under the optional attributes. Fill it in both languages and check the status for your category in your INNO seller back office.

A size that is not European

Size is mandatory for apparel, swimwear, underwear and shoes, and you pick it from a value list that only holds European sizes. Convert French, Italian or German sizes first. Your INNO seller back office carries conversion grids for apparel, swimwear and nightwear, and for bras and bikinis.

For home, household, bags, luggage, jewellery and toys the size is optional and you type it yourself, as a value plus a unit (mm, cm or m) for length, height, width and diameter.

The image is cut off at the top and the bottom

The ratio of width to height has to be 7 to 8. An image that misses that ratio is cut off at the top and at the bottom.

The minimum is 1050 by 1200 pixels, 1400 by 1600 is strongly recommended for the zoom, and the maximum is 2625 by 3000 pixels at 6 MB per file. Supported formats are gif, jp2, jpg, jpeg, png, tiff and tif.

One image is mandatory, the main one, and you can add five more. The main image shows the product fully visible from the front, worn on a mannequin for apparel. Use a white, beige or light grey background, never a scene, and never black and white. No watermarks, no logos, no text, nothing next to the product itself. You need the licence for every image, and underwear and beachwear are never shown on child models.

Importing images means one publicly accessible HTTP or HTTPS URL per column. To replace an image the new URL has to differ from the old one.

A price with a comma

Write the decimal separator as a full stop, never as a comma. A comma is deleted, and the shopper then sees the price without any separator at all. Only two decimals are kept.

FAQ

Which fields are mandatory on every product?

Product category, the deepest level of it, plus your Shop SKU, the EAN as 13 digits, the brand, the name, the long description, the colour and one image. Size joins that list for apparel, swimwear, underwear and shoes, and a unit of measurement for liquids. INNO also calls the short description mandatory in both languages while listing it as optional, so check your back office.

My brand is missing from the list, or is spelled wrong

The brand comes from a value list. Ask INNO to add it or correct it, and do not change it yourself in the back office, because a change there does not reach the shop front.

When do I need a unit of measurement?

For liquids, so the shop can calculate the price per unit. Pick product volume in cl or product weight in g, as a decimal.

How do I keep variants together?

A product with several versions, a blouse in several colours and sizes for example, gets a variant group code, sometimes called the parent id. Fill in the product number of the higher level product.

What do I fill in on my shop, next to the products?

Three shop fields are mandatory: your shop description, your shipping and delivery policy, and your return and refund policy. English first, plus Dutch and French, each at most 5000 characters.
