Before you start

You fill your product data in an ePRICE PIM tab in e-tailize. After validating, sending takes two steps and the order is mandatory. "List content" places the product in the ePRICE catalogue, where their own catalogue team reads it. "List offers" then attaches your offer to that catalogue entry. The rules below are ePRICE rules, not e-tailize rules. e-tailize checks your data against them before anything leaves: click "Validate" in the "Listing" screen first, because an empty mandatory field or a value ePRICE does not accept stops the product inside e-tailize.

When you create the ePRICE PIM tab you choose whether to translate: answer "Yes" to "Would you like to translate?" and pick the language, which e-tailize preselects from the marketplace language. If you see untranslated text on the marketplace, have the content translated and list it again. ePRICE keeps its own seller guide up to date, and that guide is the version that counts on the day you list.

What happens next

A new product datasheet goes to the ePRICE catalogue team, which checks it first. Until then the offer you sent with "List offers" sits in the pending offers list of your ePRICE shop.

You cannot change a datasheet yourself once ePRICE has created it. A correction goes to their seller team as a ticket, with the EAN and the change you want, so it pays to get the content right the first time.

Common problems

The item name is refused

An item name is between 10 and 255 characters. Leave the manufacturer name out of it. The first four words weigh heaviest in the ePRICE search, so put what the product is at the front.

The description is refused

At most 2000 characters, and never written entirely in block capitals: "monitor", not "MONITOR". Capitals are fine for an acronym, a contraction, a vendor code and after a full stop. Cover the material, the colour and the size. Leave out warranty text, promotions, price text and HTML.

An image does not arrive

Every product needs a main image, delivered as a URL. At least 500 pixels, no watermark such as your own logo, no marketing text across the picture, and a white background is preferred. ePRICE cannot read a link from DropBox. Extra images follow the same rules.

A code is rejected

The EAN is exactly 13 numbers. A UPC of 11 or 12 numbers gets one or two zeros in front of it, until it counts 13. The product id type is written as "EAN" in capital letters. Your SKU and the manufacturer part number are each unique and 5 to 20 characters long, and without a part number you use the EAN there as well. The manufacturer is mandatory: for a white label product you fill in your own company name.

The category or the VAT rate is wrong

Every product carries the ePRICE category path, all three levels, taken from their category file. The VAT rate goes in as a plain number, 22, 4 or 10, in line with Italian law, and the lower two only apply to food and a few other categories. Ask the ePRICE team when you are not sure.

The weight is in the wrong format

The weight is a whole number with its unit next to it, for example 600 with the unit "g" instead of 0.6 with the unit "Kg".

FAQ

Can I sell a bundle or an assorted product?

No. ePRICE does not sell assorted products, so split a set into the separate products it is made of and list those.

My product is already in the ePRICE catalogue. Do I still need all of this?

No. You then attach an offer to the datasheet ePRICE already has, and that offer goes online once ePRICE has processed it.
