Before you start

You fulfil an order by hand on the "Orders" page, under "Fulfillment" in the left sidebar. Open the row with the arrow button at the end of it and the panel "Fulfil order" stands on the right, with the subtitle "Generate shipping tag" and two buttons.

"Fulfill" is for an order you ship yourself: you tell e-tailize which carrier took it and what the track and trace code is, and e-tailize passes that on to the marketplace. "My parcel" is the other way around: e-tailize asks the shipping provider for a shipping label, so you need a shipping provider connection first. See Connect a shipping provider: MyParcel or TijdVrij.

Both buttons keep working on an order that is already fulfilled, so you can look back at what went out or add a second label.

Steps

  1. Click "Fulfillment" in the left sidebar and then "Orders".
  2. Click the arrow button at the end of the row to open the order.
  3. Click "Fulfill" in the panel "Fulfil order" on the right, or "My parcel" for a label.
  4. After "Fulfill": set "Amount" per item to the number of pieces going out now.
  5. Pick the carrier that took the parcel under "Transport carrier".
  6. Type the code of the shipment in "Track and trace code".
  7. Click "Send".
  8. After "My parcel": check the address under "1. Shipment recipient", which is prefilled from the shipping details of the order, and complete what the marketplace left out.
  9. Open "2. Delivery options" and choose a "Package type" and a "Carrier".
  10. Click "Create shipment".

What happens next

"Send" registers the shipment. The marketplace receives the carrier and the track and trace code, the column "Shipped" under "Order details" counts up, and an order whose items have all gone out moves to "Closed".

"Create shipment" hands the shipment to the shipping provider. A green message says "Shipping request has been sent to shipping provider", and the panel on the right gets a "Download" button for the label plus the track and trace of that shipment. A label on its own is not a registration: the order stays where it was until you register the shipment with "Fulfill" or your own system reports it.

Common problems

"Send" does not go through. The dialog checks itself before it lets you through. A carrier has to be chosen, at least one item needs an "Amount" above zero, and a carrier that works with tracking needs the code. An empty box gives "Track and trace must not be empty". A code with a space, a dash or a slash in it gives "Track and trace code was of invalid format": only letters and digits are accepted, between 4 and 50 of them.

The address has no house number. Marketplaces sometimes deliver it inside the street line. Fill in "House number" yourself under "1. Shipment recipient" before you create the shipment.

"3. Pickup locations" and "4. Delivery times" stay grey. These two steps only open for delivery options that use them, so most labels are done after step 2.

No label came back. The message "Something went wrong with creating the shipping request" means the provider refused the shipment. Check the recipient and the delivery options and try again.

FAQ

Can I ship part of an order?

Yes. "Amount" runs from zero up to the quantity ordered, so you send what you have. The column "Shipped" keeps the count and the order only closes once everything has gone out. The rest follows later as a second shipment, with its own track and trace code.

Can I fulfil one line instead of the whole order?

Yes. Every row under "Order details" has its own "Fulfill" button, and it opens the same "Fulfil order" dialog.

Does a MyParcel label also tell the marketplace?

No. The label is made at the shipping provider. Use "Fulfill" to register the carrier and the track and trace code with the marketplace.

My carrier is not in "Transport carrier".

The list is maintained by e-tailize. Tell us in the chat which carrier you use and we add it.

What do I see on an order that is already fulfilled?

The "Fulfil order" dialog lists what went out already under "Shipped items", per item and with the number of pieces.
