Before you start

Hornbach is a home improvement retailer with a marketplace of its own. You apply on the Hornbach partner page, and you need an approved seller account before you can connect. The channel runs in German, so the content you send to Hornbach is German.

Hornbach runs on Mirakl, the software behind most retailer marketplaces we connect, so the wizard looks the same as for every other Mirakl marketplace. You need one API key from Hornbach.

We connect Hornbach for Germany.

Steps

Create the API key in the Hornbach back office once your seller account is live, and note your Store Id there as well. The country list holds Germany only. We never see your key after you save it, and we never ask for it in the chat.

  1. Open "Settings" in the left sidebar and click "Connections".

  2. Click "New connection", or open the marketplace wizard directly.

  3. Pick "Marketplace" in the chooser and click the Hornbach logo under "Connect marketplace provider".

  4. Fill in "Connection name", your own reference for this connection.

  5. Paste the value into "API KEY". The field is masked, so you see dots instead of what you pasted.

  6. Pick the country you sell in under "Where do you offer your products?". The list holds "Germany".

  7. Fill in "Store Id".

  8. Click "Save".

  9. Click "Validation" in the left sidebar, pick the Hornbach tile and click "Add missing PIM tabs" on every category you sell there.

  10. Fill the mandatory Hornbach fields on those tabs and click "Validate products". Get a product live walks through that screen step by step.

  11. Click "Listing", pick the Hornbach tile, select your validated products and click "List content". Click "List offers" once the content is through.

What happens next

The listing status per product tells you what went through and what came back refused. Switch "Order forwarding" and "Track and trace forwarding" on for this connection, and the carrier and the tracking code travel back to Hornbach by themselves.

The connection appears on the "API connections" page and as a card under "Existing connections" on the dashboard, and it starts feeding your dashboard, your orders and your stock. Orders from Hornbach come in under "Fulfillment" and then "Orders", with the same "Open", "Processing" and "Closed" filters as your other channels.

Common problems

No guideline of Hornbach itself is written down, so what blocks a product here are the mandatory fields of its category, filled in German. A key regenerated in the back office afterwards gives a connection that saves and then moves nothing. Create a fresh key and save the connection again.
