Before you start
Praxis and Brico are the two channels of Maxeda, and they share one set of content rules. Configure both channels the same way, because a product that is approved on one and incomplete on the other still costs you the sale.
One rule sits above all the others: every mandatory field has to be filled in. Maxeda does not approve product data with a gap in it, on either channel.
Your data goes out in Dutch and in French, so plan for both languages from the start rather than translating afterwards.
Common problems
The title is refused or cut
Maxeda prescribes the word order and the maximum length of a title, and both differ per language. Follow the title rule for the language you list in, from the guidelines in your Maxeda back office.
The description is too thin
Maxeda sets a minimum length. Cover what the product is, what you use it for, the maintenance it needs, what is in the box and the legal warranty, and use HTML to give the text structure.
A USP is missing in one language
Maxeda asks for a fixed number of USPs, in every required language, each within a maximum length. Three in Dutch and two in French is an incomplete product, so write them in every language before you list.
The images are too small or too few
Maxeda sets a minimum number of images per product and a minimum size per image. Check the current numbers in your Maxeda back office.
A number with a comma
Always write a number with a full stop as the decimal separator, never with a comma. That one applies to every numeric field, dimensions and weights included.
FAQ
Do Praxis and Brico need separate product data?
No, the rules are the same, but both channels have to be configured identically. Check both before you conclude that a product is live, and give Maxeda up to a week to review a submission before you treat a product that is not yet visible as a fault.
What does Maxeda expect around shipping and returns?
State your expected delivery time and then keep to it. Maxeda sets the shipping and returns policy for the channel, including the return label, so follow what your Maxeda back office prescribes.
Where do I find the current Maxeda guidelines?
In your own Maxeda back office. Their full guide is not public, so the back office is the place where a changed rule shows up first.
