Before you start
Obelink publishes one set of product content rules, and they are all about your images. Meet them and Obelink can market your products, make your brand more visible to its customers and lift how your products perform. Miss them and your product does not appear on the website of Obelink.
Obelink also reserves the right to remove images that do not match its values, so an image that gets through today can still come down later.
You decide which images Obelink gets on the Obelink tab of your product. Sell on Obelink covers the connection and the listing flow itself.
What happens next
Fix the images first, then take the normal route: click "Validation" in the left sidebar, pick the Obelink connection, open the category of your product under "Select marketplace category" and click "Validate products", then choose "Validate only" or "Fill mandatory fields & validate". Next click "Listing", pick the Obelink tile and click "List content", followed by "List offers" once the content is through. Get a product live: validate and list it walks through both screens.
Common problems
The main image does not stand on its own
The main image stands on its own on a white background. Upload your set with "Upload images" on the Obelink tab, then tick "Choose as main image" on the picture that has to lead. The caption under the row reads "Select the main image".
There are fewer than 2 or more than 6 images
Obelink takes a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 images per product. Remove what you do not need with "Delete this image", or point the images field of the tab at the set you do want to send.
An image carries a logo or a slogan
Do not add logos, branding or promotional slogans to the images. A product whose images carry one does not meet the conditions of Obelink, and a product that does not meet them stays off their website.
An image carries a shadow
None of the images carries a shadow. That rule covers every image you send to Obelink, not just the main one.
e-tailize asks you to set the primary image
Adding a new tab while the tab you have open has images but none marked as the main one stops you with "Please set the primary image.", and the dialog for the new tab does not open. Tick "Choose as main image" on one of the images and add the tab again. When the product itself has images too and none of them is the main one, adding the tab again gives "Please update the product to include a primary image before proceeding." Set a main image on the product as well.
FAQ
Does e-tailize check these image rules for me?
No. Validation checks your product data against what the marketplace requires, before anything is sent. Whether an image stands free on a white background is the judgement of Obelink, so a product can pass validation in e-tailize and still be refused there.
Can I give Obelink other images than my other channels?
Yes. Images you upload on a marketplace tab go to that marketplace only, and your main product keeps its own set. Import into a PIM tab and use images per marketplace shows how to point a tab at your own image fields instead.
What do I do when Obelink removes an image?
Replace it on the Obelink tab with one that follows the rules above, and list the content again. Sending the same set a second time changes nothing.
