Before you start
The Slow Start Guarantee comes with the Takeover. In one line: €10,000 in new revenue in your first 6 months, or we work the next 3 without our fixed fee. Or you walk away after month 6. The conditions are in your quote, and where this article and your quote differ, your quote wins.
New revenue is the revenue on the marketplace accounts we run for you, per calendar month as the marketplace reports it: excluding VAT, after returns, which come off the next month. Months 1 to 6 count together, over all the marketplaces we run.
On bol, the Takeover also comes with the "bol.com Admission Guarantee". We get you on bol. Meet bol's seller requirements and deliver what we ask on time, or your fees back. It covers your admission at the start. Once bol has accepted you, it ends.
Steps
- Deliver on time what we need: KYC documents, data and approvals. When something is late, we tell you by email at the time, and it counts as your delay.
- Pay your first month before or in the kickoff. Paying it after the kickoff also counts as your delay.
- Keep to the ad budget on every live marketplace: at least €450 per live marketplace a month, or the marketplace's own minimum if that is higher, and each step up we advise while your ads pay back.
- Within 10 days after month 6 we email you the total new revenue of months 1 to 6, with your two choices if it stays under the line.
What happens next
Under €10,000 in total? You choose, by email within 30 days after month 6:
- We keep working, and months 7 to 9 carry no fixed fee. The share of the revenue runs as usual.
- Or you end the Takeover. You owe nothing for the months after month 6, and you keep every account, free.
No choice within those 30 days means the Takeover continues, with months 7 to 9 free of the fixed fee. Nothing is paid out in cash, and the guarantee does not cover ad spend or third party costs.
Common problems
A delay was on your side. The guarantee applies only if you delivered on time and kept to the ad budget. Late KYC, data or approvals, or the first month paid after the kickoff, take it away.
The Takeover ended early. If it ends before month 7 because of unpaid invoices, a breach or fraud on your side, the guarantee lapses.
You signed again. It applies once per client. A Takeover signed again within 12 months after an earlier one ended brings no new Slow Start Guarantee.
FAQ
Is this a promise of revenue?
No. It is a guarantee, not a forecast. Each marketplace decides on admission, and the guarantee says what you get when the start is slow.
Does the ad budget count as new revenue?
No. New revenue is what your customers buy on the marketplaces we run. Your ad spend goes to the marketplace and is not part of our fee.
